08 Jul Getting Back On Track With Your 2019 Goals!
Can you believe we’re already halfway through the year? If you’re asking yourself, “where has this year gone?” then consider this your timely reminder to do a stock take of where you’re at with your 2019 goals.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve been guilty of getting caught up in the busyness of life and have forgotten to check in with the goals I set at the beginning of the year. Oops! Juggling a business, family and personal life is hard enough, let alone continuously striving to do more and be better.
I set goals to ensure I’m living my life’s purpose but it’s easy to get distracted. Am I right?
So, I thought these five questions would act as a nice reminder to reset and ready yourself for an epic second half of 2019.
1. How do you feel when you re-read your 2019 goals?
First thing’s first, find your 2019 goals. Did you write them on a piece of scrap paper or in the notes section of your phone? Dig them out and spend a moment re-reading them. How do they make you feel? Are you inspired to take action? Do they give you anxiety? Do you feel overwhelmed or excited, or do you feel guilty? Get clear on what emotions you’re feeling, even if they’re not positive, as this will create the energy boost you need to get to work!
2. Have you achieved any of your goals so far?
Take a moment to reflect on the goals you’ve achieved and give yourself a big pat on the back! We don’t celebrate our wins often enough, so I strongly encourage you to write down all the great things you’ve done. These don’t just have to be the goals you’ve completed, but they might be other opportunities or projects you’ve succeeded on in the first half of the year.
3. Are the goals you set in January still relevant?
As time passes, our priorities change and that’s totally okay. A goal you set in January may have been where you thought you wanted your business or life to head, but now you feel like it’s not all that relevant. I set a goal to start working out, but that still hasn’t happened yet!
4. Which three goals are most important to you and why?
With six months left in the year, I know you can smash out three goals! By focusing your attention on just three, this will allow you to stay aligned to your dream life and reduce the feeling of overwhelm. Understanding why they are important to you will also give you the spur of motivation you need to keep going.
5. What’s one thing you can do right now to achieve your goals?
A goal is just a dream with a plan, so get crystal clear on the action points you need to take in order to achieve your goals. By breaking down a seemingly big goal into smaller parts, you will immediately feel more inspiring as you’re able to get that satisfaction of ticking tasks off quicker.
