2 For 1 Special

Have you ever had one dress and styled it different ways depending on your mood? Of course, me tooooo! Did you change your look up with your heels, your jacket, or your lipstick? Well for me you know it’s gotta be with my shades! Here’s my take on 2 of the biggest spring trends for 2019, and how to make them work for YOU!

1. Sporty-Spice Shields

Remember the tiny sunglasses trend of 2018? Well 2019 gives it the big middle finger! I’m loving this large and in charge trend SO much right now, because my motto in life and in fashion is “Go Big or Go Home!”

So why are shields so fabulous? They provide the most coverage, which is great for 2 reasons:

1. For protection, which means they keep your precious peepers out of the sun, and

2. Since they cover a lot of your face, they’re perfect for when you’ve pulled an all-nighter out with the girls or staying up with a crying baby. No concealer? No problem. Your shields got you covered. Literally!

Now lord knows I’m not really the sporty type. But hey, fake it till you make it, right? Sportier takes on shield sunglasses for summer 2019 were all over the runways, and I’m totally here for it. The shield trend is sporty and functional, and some styles even have futuristic characteristics, to satisfy your inner space-age fashionista.

In this look I loved pairing a larger-than-life burgundy metallic shield sunglass by Gucci and juxtaposing it with a Marchesa Notte metallic lamé gown. This formal gown feels amazing with it’s draped bodice, off-the-shoulder neckline, and front slit. The sporty sunnies mixed with the formal dress give it a wow factor that’s hard to beat and ultra cool.

2. Bling Bling Baby

Any self-respecting fashion lover knows that jewels and embellishments are a common sight on designer shoes and bags, but this year we also see them on high-end sunglasses, and these pieces are seriously next level! If you define yourself as “extra” like I do, then this will be one of your favorite spring/summer 2019 sunglasses trends.

Here my Miu Miu frames are in a beautiful butterfly shape and encrusted with rhinestones embellishing the frame front all over. These acetate frames with metal components are made in Italy and are absolute showstoppers! Believe it or not, I consider this to be more of a traditional “fancy-tastic” look when paired with my gown, because it feels right at home at a black tie gala or other red carpet event. When the sun shines high in the sky, these frames will steal the show and make you feel like a queen!!
